Description:

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. This position will report to the Director of Finance but will also work closely with the CFO and our product teams to ensure vendors are paid timely and transactions are accurately reflected in the general ledger. The successful candidate will be willing and eager to take on new challenges and will work well in a team-oriented environment, ready to chip in on any project or task at a moment’s notice. This is a junior-level role with day-to-day duties, but it will also have exposure to a variety of accounting areas as well as experience in establishing processes and controls for a rapidly growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks such as entering bank transactions and credit card expenses into our accounting software
  • Preparation of general ledger entries
  • Participate in the monthly close process and produce related reporting and analysis
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to manage vendor payments by assisting with the accounts payable process. This includes soliciting approvals, coordinating appropriate accounting treatment of accruals, prepaid and operating expenses, researching and resolving any payment questions, and preparing and processing vendor payments
  • Assist with the accounts receivable process by invoicing customers, tracking and applying customer payments
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with payroll input and processing
  • Ad-hoc analysis of projects as assigned
  • Maintenance and review of fixed asset accounts; preparation of property tax filings
  • Assist with the development of process improvements to promote departmental and organizational efficiency

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of accounting fundamentals such as A/P, A/R, and G/L
  • Ability to review and identify accurate data entry, correcting issues as needed
  • Good analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills; ability to break down complex concepts and clearly explain them internally and externally
  • Ability to interact with multiple departments
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Nice to Have Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Experience with consolidating multiple entities
  • Experience with accounting for foreign transactions
